Availability

Available to customers in individual residences, condominiums, mobile homes, apartments or any metered customer on the water mains of the Company’s Water System. Service under this schedule shall be used solely by the contracting customer in a single enterprise, located entirely on a single, contiguous premise, and who qualifies for a residential or industrial schedule; and water delivered hereunder shall not be used for resale!

 

Tap Fees

The following charges shall apply to all new service connections:

Any service larger than a 3/4″ inch tap, will be charged on a per tap basis.

 

The total cost of each new connection shall be paid for by the customer and shall become property of the Water District. Only one dwelling is permitted per meter. The obligation of the company in regard to supplying water is dependent upon the Customer securing and the Company retaining all necessary rights-of-way, privileges, franchises and permits, for the delivery of such water, and the Company shall not be liable to any customer or applicant for water in the event it is delayed in, or is prevented from furnishing the water by the Customer’s failure to secure and the Company’s ability to retain such rights-of-way, rights, privileges, franchises and permits.

 

Rate Fees

2-Month Billing Cycle —- Bills will be due each even numbered month.

 

¾ ” service — $25.00 minimum and $7.65 per thousand gallons.

1” service — $44.40 minimum and $7.65 per thousand gallons.

1 ½ ” service — $99.90 minimum and $7.65 per thousand gallons.

2” service — $177.60 minimum and $7.65 per thousand gallons.

3 ” service — $399.60 minimum and $7.65 per thousand gallons.

4” service — $710.41 minimum and $7.65 per thousand gallons.

6 ” service — $1598.42 minimum and $7.65 per thousand gallons.

All bills will include a $1 DHEC charge.

 

Any existing customer or service Grandfathered with more than 1 dwelling on a single service will pay a minimum for each dwelling plus the total usage.

 

Payment

Bills under this schedule are due and payable upon receipt. Bills are past due and delinquent on the 21st day of the month billed. All bills not paid by the delinquent date shall be subject to a (10 ten percent late payment charge on the unpaid amount. Failure to receive bill does not excuse non-payment. Services are subject to disconnection without notice if not paid within 10 days after the delinquent date. The full balance, including late charges, plus a $75 reconnect fee must be paid to restore service. Any meter that is inactive (not connected to a customer) for a period of 6 months is subject to a reinstatement fee of $200; 1 year is considered abandonment and subject to a new tap fee according tap size.

 

The above rates are fixed upon the basis that the Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from any failure to furnish water when such failure is wholly or partially due to any cause reasonably beyond the control of the Company, and upon the basis that the Company shall not, in any event be liable for any loss, damage or injury by fire due to any failure or alleged failure on its part to furnish water, whether such failure shall be due to the act or omission of the Company or otherwise. The demands of the fire department in the area shall be paramount to the requirements of other customers and the Company reserves the right to suspend the furnishing of water to customers whenever the fire department in said area may be using water to extinguish a fire or for any other purpose.

 

Miscellaneous Information

 There is a non-refundable $40 service fee to have water service started. Renter’s must pay $140 before water will be turned on: a $100.00 deposit and a non-refundable $40 service fee. All returned checks have a service charge of $30. There are no adjustments for leaks under 50,000 gallons.

 

Cut off for Nonpayment

Big Creek Water District has Cut Off Day for past due accounts. The account is considered delinquent and the meter is subject to be cut off once the 30-day payment period has expired.  At this time, if the customer has not paid by 8am on Cut Off Day, the account is locked off and a $75.00 reconnect fee is due in addition to the balance to reactivate the account.  Tampering with a meter (cutting a lock or turning your water back on) is a criminal offense and the customer will be held liable for such an action.  There is a $200 meter reset fee if your meter has been pulled for tampering plus the entire balance is due before service will be reinstated.
